Charmain Levy (UQO) has just published a co-authored article with Chiara Belingardi in Social Politics, titled: “Care and Feminist Urban Commons: The Cases of Las Pioneras in Montevideo and Lucha y Siesta in Rome”.
Drawing on the experiences of Lucha y Siesta (Rome) and Espacio Feminista Las Pioneras (Montevideo), the article explores how care within feminist urban commons can become a feminist strategy to reclaim urban space—offering an alternative to traditional public or private models, grounded in cooperation, solidarity, and interdependence.
