I obtained my PhD in Anthropology and Political Sociology at the Université de Paris VIII in the year 2000. I have been a professor at the Université du Québec en Outaouais since 2005.

My research falls within the fields of political sociology and the sociology of religion. My research and teaching activities focus mainly on international cooperation, politics and society in Latin America, international development, democracy and citizenship, culture and identity. My recent work highlights, in particular, the importance of the presence of social movements for democracy and development; the significance of women’s participation and diversity in general within social movements; and the relevance of the relationship between social movements and political parties.​
