I am currently a PhD candidate in political science at UQAM, with major in Comparative Politics and minor in theories of the state. Currently in the writing phase, I am interested in the negative impact of right-wing populism on racialized populations in Quebec and Rio de Janeiro. Under the supervision of Julián Durazo Herrmann, our overall goal is to demonstrate these causal relationships between right-wing populism and the harmful effects on these populations through a unique and innovative theoretical and methodological framework. I taught as a lecturer at UQAM in the summer of 2023 (POL4111 – Political Systems in Latin America) and as a guest lecturer at the State University of Rio de Janeiro during the winter of 2025 (two distinct, but complementary courses: Comparative Politics in Political Science, and Populism, Racism and Nationalism). Each year, I contributed to the V-Dem Institute's annual report on the state of democracy in the world, serving as a Country Expert for Canada.

Aside from the academy, I volunteered for the NGO Brasa between 2021 and 2022, where I provided mentoring space and, later, as coordinator of the Fundamentees program, where underrepresented or low-income Brazilian who wish to study abroad could prepare their applications and apply for scholarships. Since 2023, I have been involved in various student services at UQAM, including international student services and IT services. I am fluent in French, English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
