I obtained my PhD in Political Science from the Université du Québec à Montréal in 2016. I was a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa from 2018 to 2019. I have been a professor at the Université du Québec en Outaouais since 2019.
Trained as a political scientist, my research is situated in the fields of international relations and international development. I focus on the evolution of Canadian foreign policy in Latin America and, more specifically, on the intersection between extractive diplomacy and Canada’s development aid and human rights policies. I study the role and influence of Canadian human rights NGOs and mining companies in post-conflict states such as Guatemala, Colombia, and Honduras. My teaching at all three academic levels emphasizes Canadian and Quebec perspectives on international development, and I regularly teach courses on international cooperation, foreign policy, and development theory.
Languages: French, English, Spanish
My research program is organized around three main axes:
- Canada's foreign policy in Latin America in the 21st century
- Human rights and corporate social responsibility
- Humanitarian aid and managing the migration crisis in Central America
