I am a PhD candidate in Political Science at the Université du Québec à Montréal, under the supervision of Nora Nagels. My dissertation project examines the paradox of reintegration through armed force in post-conflict Colombia. Through a study of the Unidad Nacional de Protección (UNP), it analyzes how the professional integration of former FARC-EP combatants as close protection agents contributes to the transformation of their wartime resources into legitimate capital. The aim is to determine whether this mechanism fosters democratic resilience through the institutionalization of violence, or whether, on the contrary, it contributes to the reproduction of a warrior habitus and the continuation of the logics of armed conflict.

I hold a Master's degree in International Governance and Diplomacy from Sciences Po Paris (PSIA), where I developed strong interdisciplinary expertise in conflict management and peacebuilding dynamics. I subsequently chose to further specialize my regional and methodological expertise by obtaining a second Master's degree from the Institut des hautes études de l'Amérique latine (IHEAL). In this context, I conducted in-depth research under the supervision of Mathilde Allain on the legitimization strategies of FARC dissident groups, through a textual and discursive analysis of their official statements. My academic background was further enriched by a research internship at the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz, JEP) in Bogotá. This opportunity allowed me to work as a research assistant on the socio-territorial analysis of dissident dynamics, further developing my skills in empirical observation and the analysis of sensitive data in a post-conflict context.
