Victor Junior Jean
Professional redactor and master's student in social sciences of development, specializing in international development
I worked as a journalist (2007-2011) after studying communications at the State University of Haiti. I then worked in a public communications office (2011-2016) before volunteering as editor-in-chief for a community organization's magazine (2021-2023). I obtained a bachelor's degree with a major in professional writing and a minor in information and digital media from UQO in 2023. Currently, under the supervision of Professor Marc-André Anzueto, I am conducting a study on “the development of Haiti according to the views of Haitian activists living in Quebec and Ontario in the digital age.”
I remain focused on writing my master's thesis, which I plan to submit by early 2026. At the same time, I am doing a documentation search on behalf of a group of researchers as part of a project on the migration crisis. Prior to this recent contract, I was a teaching assistant at UQO. In terms of research prospects, I plan to deepen my research into digital activism, transnational activism, transnational civil society, and international development.
