Jean-Daniel Roy-Trudeau

Jean-Daniel is a master's student in political science at the Université du Québec à Montréal and holds a bachelor's degree in political science with a concentration in American studies. For his dissertation, he is interested in American suburbs as rare competitive electoral spaces and in the impacts of the suburbanization of American society on its political institutions, particularly the Democratic Party. He is also a researcher in residence at the Raoul-Dandurand Chair and coordinator of the Observatory on the United States of the same research chair for the year 2021-2022. More broadly, he is interested in the evolution of institutions within democratic and authoritarian regimes, electoral processes, the institutionalization of social movements and political parties.
