MARIANA FONSECA
Mariana Fonseca

Mariana Fonseca holds a degree in Portuguese Language, as well as a BA and MA in Political Science from the University of Brasília, Brazil. She focuses particularly on the relationship between social movements and the state, and more recently, between social movements and the market. She is currently a doctoral student in political science at the University of Brasília. Her research explores the relationship between organizations and movements in Brazil's urban peripheries, notably the Central Única das Favelas (CUFA), and the market. The aim is to understand the effects of the latter on forms of action and the construction of citizenship, in relation to those of the state.
