From ERIGAL, we’re happy to share the new article published by Roman Perdomo (PhD candidate in Political Science at UdeM and ERIGAL member) and Claire Launay-Gama (Sciences Po, Paris), titled:
« Les organisations facilitatrices de l’alerte en Amérique latine ».
Since the 2010s, many Latin American countries have faced a democratic downturn marked by rising authoritarianism and distrust in institutions. In this context, whistleblowers rely on civil society organizations. A comparison of two organizations in Colombia and Peru shows that they provide three key forms of support—institutional guidance, public visibility, and protection—often compensating for weak or absent state mechanisms.
Congratulations to Roman and Claire!
