The ÉRIGAL offers two doctoral recruitment scholarships of 10,000 CAD.
Two one-year doctoral scholarships of $10,000 are offered to a doctoral student admitted to one of the programs of the departments associated with ÉRIGAL: Political Science, Urban Studies (UQAM, UdeM, McGill, Concordia), Social Sciences (UQO), and Sociology (ULaval).
To apply, candidates must have the support of their future supervisor (among the professors who are members of ÉRIGAL) and must have received an offer of admission to a doctoral program targeted by this competition. Applications will be evaluated by a committee of three professors, based on the following criteria:
• Excellence of the academic record (CV, transcripts)
• Quality and relevance of the research project to one of the three research axes of ÉRIGAL
• Financial need (applicants who already hold external funding from granting agencies will not be eligible for this recruitment scholarship)
• The scholarship is disbursed in two installments: at the beginning of the doctoral program, and again after one year of study if all requirements have been met
• Possible co-supervision between ÉRIGAL professors professeur.es
This is a one-year recruitment scholarship, whose objective is notably to serve as a lever for securing external funding for the remainder of the doctoral program (FRQ, SSHRC, or other funding agencies outside Canada).
