sime09@uqo.ca

Holder of a bachelor’s degree in social sciences with a concentration in sociology and have been pursuing a master's degree in developmental social sciences since 2024. Throughout my studies, I developed a keen interest in international issues. My research project focuses on the effects of U.S. and Canadian anti-drug policies on violence dynamics and forced displacement of populations in Honduras. Through a critical perspective, I analyze the tensions between security imperatives and development objectives, highlighting North–South power relations and the implications of security cooperation on human rights. My project is currently in the theoretical and methodological development phase, with a submission expected between December 2026 and April 2027.

My project, entitled The Fight Against Drug Trafficking and Forced Displacement of Populations: The Paradoxes of American and Canadian Security Policies in Honduras, is currently in the process of theoretical and methodological development, with submission planned between December 2026 and April 2027. I am also a member of the Quebec Political Science Society (SQSP). Alongside my studies, I collaborate on various research projects as a research assistant and am actively involved in university life through different committees and associations. My research supervisor is Professor Marc-André Anzueto.
