THE CREATION OF A CHAIR BETWEEN CÉRIUM (UNIVERSITÉ DE MONTRÉAL) AND CERI (SCIENCES PO PARIS)

ÉRIGAL is pleased to announce the creation of a new CERI-CERIUM chair in International Affairs led by professors Françoise Montambeault (UdeM) and Olivier Dabène (Sciences Po Paris), co-holders of the Chair for 2019-2021.

The Chair position is based on financial support from the Coopération France Québec (a program led by the Quebec and French governments) as well as the logistical and financial support from CERI-Sciences Po and CERIUM – Université de Montréal. Furthermore, the Chair is based on existing relationships between researchers from the Observatoire politique de l’Amérique latine et des Caraïbes (OPALC) and the Équipe de recherche interuniversitaire sur l’inclusion et la gouvernance en Amérique latine (ÉRIGAL).

The purpose of the Chair is to create a network of researchers in France and Quebec, made up of professors, Ph.D students, postdoctoral researchers, with the goal of developing a research and training program for emerging social scientists examining transformations in governance in Latin America. The network aims to create a space for dialogue between professors, researchers and students on the topics of governance, citizen participation and the transformation of forms of engagement in the public sphere in Latin America.
